PRP / PRF Injection
Platelet-rich plasma and platelet-rich fibrin from your own blood — nature's most powerful regenerative signal for collagen growth, volume restoration, and genuine skin renewal.
Overview
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) injection is one of the most compelling regenerative treatments in aesthetic medicine — a procedure that harnesses the concentrated healing power of your own blood to stimulate collagen growth, restore volume, and fundamentally improve skin quality from within. Because PRP is derived entirely from your own biology, it is the most natural injectable treatment available, with virtually no risk of allergic reaction or foreign body response.
The procedure begins with a simple blood draw — typically the same volume drawn for routine lab tests. The blood is then processed in a specialized centrifuge that separates the plasma and concentrates the platelets to 3–5 times their normal blood concentration. This platelet-rich plasma contains a rich cocktail of over 30 growth factors — including PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, and IGF — that collectively signal the skin's fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin, stimulate cellular proliferation, and accelerate tissue repair.
When injected into the face, PRP creates a biological cascade of regeneration that unfolds over the weeks following treatment. Unlike fillers that add volume through a foreign substance, PRP stimulates the growth of new connective tissue from your own cells — producing genuine, natural-feeling improvement in volume, skin thickness, and overall quality.
PRP vs. PRF — What's the Difference?
PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is the next-generation evolution of PRP. While PRP is processed at higher speeds to isolate plasma and platelets, PRF is spun at a lower speed and without anticoagulants — preserving a denser concentration of platelets, white blood cells, and stem cells held within a natural fibrin scaffold. This fibrin matrix releases growth factors slowly over 7–10 days, producing a longer, more sustained regenerative effect than PRP's faster release.
At Jeune, we use both. PRP is ideal for broad skin-quality improvement and microneedling pairings, while PRF excels at volume restoration, under-eye rejuvenation, and areas that benefit from prolonged growth-factor release. During your consultation we'll recommend whichever — or which combination — best fits your goals.

What PRP Addresses
- Volume loss in cheeks, temples, and mid-face
- Under-eye hollowness and thinning skin

- Overall skin quality — texture, radiance, and firmness
- Acne scarring — as standalone or combined with microneedling
- Hair loss and thinning (scalp PRP injections)
Treatment Protocol
We recommend a series of 3 PRP sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart for optimal collagen induction and regenerative benefit. Results continue to improve for up to 3 months following the final session as new collagen matures. Annual or biannual maintenance sessions sustain the improvement over time.
What to Expect
The blood draw takes approximately 5 minutes, and centrifugation takes another 10 minutes. A topical numbing cream is applied before injections to maximize comfort. After treatment, mild swelling, redness, and occasionally small bruises are normal and typically resolve within 1–3 days. Results are progressive and natural — most patients notice their skin looking noticeably healthier, more luminous, and more voluminous beginning 3–4 weeks after the first session.
Common Post-Treatment Symptoms
These reactions are normal and typically temporary:
- Noticeable swelling, especially around delicate areas like under-eyes
- Bruising at both the injection sites and the blood draw site
- Mild pressure, fullness, or localized soreness
Aftercare
- Do not wash the treated area or apply makeup for 24 hours
- Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., Ibuprofen) as they inhibit the natural healing process
- Stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water
